Experiences of People Seeking Abortion is a collection of studies that capture the lived experiences of Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia residents who seek or receive abortion care. The studies assess the psychosocial and material costs of abortion restrictions, especially in structurally disenfranchised communities.
Understanding the lived experiences of people who seek and those who access abortion care is a critical component to telling the overarching story of abortion in Ohio and surrounding states. The studies in this project generate knowledge about how individual attributes (such as race or wealth) can impact the experience of seeking care, as well as how an environmental factor (such as specific policies) can impact the experience.
